Season 12 Spoilers: Introduction

At long last, it is time for another IACP Season – Season 12! In this series of articles, we will release the new and updated cards for Season 12. A few notes first: For Season 12, all cards that were introduced in Season 11 that were not disapproved (so, everything except Ventress and The Armorer), were considered Conditionally Approved on the Community Vote. Therefore, as all these cards are on probation, they will be voted on again for the Season 12 ballot. We definitely encourage you to continue playing games with these cards and let us know your feedback. The Season 11 card discussion channels in the discord will remain open for this purpose.

The following cards are on probation from Season 11:

  • AT-RT
  • Purge Commander
  • Royal Guard Champion
  • Dr. Royce Hemlock + Cloned Reinforcements (unique CC)
  • Mak Eshka’rey + Disengage (unique CC)
  • Lord of the Sith (Darth Vader unique CC)
  • You Will Not Deny Me (Fifth Brother unique CC)
  • Imperial Citadel (skirmish upgrade)
  • Explosive Armaments (skirmish upgrade)
  • Self-Augmentation (CC)
  • Paid in Beskar (CC)

The following cards were on probation during Season 11, having been conditionally approved in previous seasons, and are now considered approved (no further voting):

  • Dengar
  • Rogue One (skirmish upgrade).

Additionally, during the last Community Vote, we asked the community’s opinion on adjustment of previously Approved cards. The majority of respondents indicated that cards should be adjusted as minimally necessary to maintain the balance of the game, but at the same time several believed that these changes should be approved (or disapproved) by community vote. We agree. While through the testing and voting process, we strive to make cards as balanced as possible, nothing is perfect. Certain undesirable interactions or imbalances can creep in. And while this probably happens on less than one or two cards per season, if at all, the accretion of slight imbalances can result in larger imbalances over time. Thus, one of the central themes of Season 12 will be rebalancing several existing cards in IACP. In some cases, cards that were overtuned needed to be slightly nerfed. In other cases, cards that for one reason or another never see competitive play need to also be reworked. While we understand that individual players may be attached to a particular version of some card, we hope that you will approach these changes with an open mind and evaluate whether they succeed in their goal of making the Imperial Assault that much more balanced. Either way, we very much appreciate your feedback, both positive and negative, about these sorts of changes. As stated above, all significant changes to existing cards will be made subject to Community Vote.
